I am a recent graduate with a BA in English and some journalism background in my mid-forties.  I believe in traditional journalism and seek out sources of information that have long-standing reputations for accuracy, integrity and an attempt to be as unbiased as possible.  I value thoughtful journalism that seeks to turn down the temperature and give a place for discussion from many sides.  

I am writing this blog to be a part of combating the epidemic of disinformation and misinformation coming from the alt-right.  I write from a strong progressive perspective, but I believe in finding ways to bring people of many different backgrounds together to fight a common enemy.  This blog is an attempt to create a place where people can come together to find common cause against political movements in American that are fundamentally undemocratic.  I write editorials based on sound reporting from trusted sources in an attempt to offer ideas about how to best combat what I consider to be the most dangerous scourge America has ever faced.  Though I write opinions from a particular perspective, I strive to be fair and just and base my work on sound research.  I welcome opposing opinions and hope that this will be a place for truly fruitful discussion.
